~ Backstory ~
Development on Neon Noodles began in 2019 and I was invited onto the project very early on, composed most of the music that year and tweaked it the following years until we had around 45 minutes of music. The idea was to have rhythmical, electronic music to create a mood inspired by the robots cooking the food once programmed. Added onto this in the beginning was that it would take place in different areas around the world, for instance you would cook in Asia or Africa, Europe or America. The music reflected this subtly with various instruments for these different places like the shakuhachi for Asia and percussion from Africa. There was no story yet, this came much later... actually I got to read it in full around a month before its release! So, I figured it would be great if there were musical stingers for these story beats as well instead of just having these gameplay tracks loop in the background. The last few weeks before release I composed around 20 extra minutes of narrative music and here is the final result! :)
